Our Story

Since its launch in Winter of 2012, BellyBallot is the fun and interactive new way parents name their baby. Old baby name books and research websites are inadequate to fit the social needs of today's mom and dad. BellyBallot was created to make the process more fun for everyone. Thousands of parents are now creating their BellyBallots every month, and including loved ones from all over the globe on this special occasion.

A product of love and necessity, BellyBallot was first conceived in 2009 during co-founder Lacey's baby shower. Looking for a fun way to include her friends and family on choosing the name (along with some much needed help!), Lacey created handwritten ballots of her top 5 boy and girl names. After handing them out to the baby shower guests, they voted for their favorites and dropped them into the “Belly Ballot Box”. The idea was an inspirational success. The excitement and creativity from family and friends was not only a rewarding experience, but helped Lacey and her husband decide on the final winner. The rest is history! The idea blossomed into the community you see today as Lacey wanted all parents to share in the same experience.
