Whether a new parent or a seasoned one, there is always a lot of chatter about swaddling. Expecting parents prepare for it in their baby class, and new parents are desperate to perfect it.
A few weeks after Little (our third) was born, she started having trouble sleeping. Traditional swaddle blankets were so much work in the middle of the night, and most of the time she managed to break free from them anyway. We tried a velcro swaddle as well, but again, a lot of steps and she was still squirmy. I was at a local baby store when I first saw the Woombie, which was designed by a RN & Certified Infant Care Specialist. I was desperate, and it seemed like such a good idea. Little did I know what a lifesaver it would turn out to be. With one zip up the front, Little was comfortably swaddled, and it also allowed her to place her arms on her chest, yet they were still pulled snug into her body. It was so easy in the middle of the night to change her and feed her with the two-way zipper, and then in one step, just zip her right back up. We ended up buying a bigger size and using it as well. I love that it helps keep them tight and secure during the baby reflex stage, but still allows them some freedom with their arms close into their body. Many of my friends have used and swear by the Woombie as well!
