Just squeezing into the end of year 2013, a baby girl makes her grand appearance, a finale to end all finales. Gail Simmons, 37, the Top Chef judge, and her hub Jeremy Abrams delivered a healthy daughter on December 29, reports People.
The couple chose to name their first little one Dahlia Rae Abrams.
Latin in origin, dahlia is a flower native now mainly in Mexico, named for the Swedish botanist Anders Dahl. In the Victorian language of flowers, Dahlia translates to dignity and elegance. It also may remind you of the 1946 romance film noir starring Veronica Lake, “The Blue Dahlia.”
Congratulations to the new parents on their exciting start to the New Year!
